XL American bullies make great pets for rookie and veteran dog owners alike. However, just like with any animal (especially larger animals) there are huge commitments one must be prepared to make.
Dogs require lots of expenses, love, and time.
Dogs require annual check-ups and shots. If your owning a puppy, then those amount of vet visit will quadruple, but only for that first year. RBK HIGHLY RECOMMENDS you take your dogs to the vet for their check-ups. Nothing beats having a trained professional handling the medical care of your animal.
Your American bully pup will also require a cage compatible with their size, food and water bowls along with ample amounts of water to stay hydrated and a balanced diet, toys for stimulation, dog walks, and quality bonding time with all the human members of their family and any other animals they might have to be in contact with a lot.
Dogs require many components to their food for a healthy diet. RBK recommends a higher end kibble source to maintain the best health, look, and performance of your bully. You can also do an all organic diet or half and half. However, that can be more time consuming and costly and can be potentially harmful if you do not know how to balance their diet properly. Kibble bags that say "puppy" on them are what is recommended for American bullies 2 years and younger because they have extra components mixed into them that are need to help puppies stay healthy and grow to their maximum potential. Puppies 2 - 4 months of age should be fed 3 times a day. Puppies 4 - 12 months of age should be fed 2 times a day. Puppies/young adult dogs 1 year and older only need food once a day. A full grown xl American bully will need about 1 - 2 pounds of food per day. RBK feeds all of its breeding stock a well balanced half and half diet of high protein kibble combined with raw meat and raw organs. We switch up the types of meats and organs used for healthy digestive stimulation.
It is also, important to not that American bullies are a designer breed with many genes and bloodlines crossed into them. Therefore, this breed of dog comes in many classes, shapes, sizes, and colors. Just because the sire and dam is a certain class or has a certain characteristic does not mean that all the offspring will be as well. ALWAYS research the pedigrees and ask the breeding program about their breeding stock before purchasing.
RBK highly suggest that you ask yourself the questions listed below before purchasing an xl American bully. Then once you've answered those questions for yourself, then ask whatever corresponding questions you need answered to any breeding program you choose to look into.
